Alex Sanchez
Born in Hemet, California, I'm a 24 year-old director with a devotion to science fiction. My pilot for a sci-fi series called "The Prophet" is releasing in Spring 2025.
At eight years old I visited my mother’s home village in Michoacán, called Urequio. And again at seventeen—and again I visit Urequio in the story I now serve every single day. What I’ve seen in Urequio I can adapt to my own created laws. My love for science fiction comes directly from my family’s origin, which at its heart is inherently a science fiction story—escaping what you’ve always known in search of something unknown, and hopefully for better. The stories I want to spend my life writing are inherently Mexican-American, a kind of blend which has a story I believe is yet inherently conducive to science fiction.
In the journey of the unknown, I am a naive cartographer. Such strange crevices in the mountains. Caves full of finger paintings. Soon you’ll see this place and will remember its people. When you leave, A part of you will remain there. Earth’s gravity is much heavier along the path to the unknown. My passion for cartography is this: when your legs grow weary, the air too thin, come back to this world I’ve found. Here you’ll walk with ease. You’ll follow these characters until death.
